beijing and hong kong-based architecture practice büro ole scheeren has unveiled the design of 'angkasa raya', a new highrise
tower in the urban center of kuala lumpur, malaysia. comprised of three rectangular volumes, the 268 meter tall structure will
offer a series of public green areas which overlook the adjacent petronas twin towers. lined with tropical vegetation, visitors are
invited into a ground floor and elevated horizontal mass within the structure, projecting dynamic activity outward to the city landscape.
the public spaces spiral upward, leading pedestrians to pass by shops, car parks, restaurants, prayer rooms and terraces contained
within transparent stacks.

primary programmatic spaces of the complex include high end residences, luxury hotel and offices. placed at mid-height
between two of the vertical blocks are the 'sky levels' which contain a bar and multifunctional spaces with views of the skyline
amidst lush gardens. a naturally ventilated atrium and shaded facades contributes to the sustainable aspects of the design.
